What is Reiki?
Reiki is one of the most ancient healing arts known to mankind. Known as an effective complementary healing tool, Reiki is used in many hospitals and treatment centers to heal the body, mind or spirit with energy. Today, millions of people use reiki to help themselves and others stimulate their own natural healing process.
It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us. When your life energy is low, it is harder to deal with anxiety, stress, and difficulties in this life. When your life energy is strong, you are less likely to suffer physical and emotional ailments. Reiki is an energy exchange that increases your life energy.
What happens during a session?
As the client lays fully clothed on a massage table, the practitioner simply lays their hands lightly on, or slightly above the head, shoulders, abdomen, legs, and feet. Energy will flow from the practitioner to the client’s body and energy field. Sessions last between 45 minutes and one hour, with shorter or longer sessions available upon request. A session of Reiki feels different to every client. Most experience increased feelings of relaxation, peace, and well-being. How? Reiki energy allows muscles to relax and increases blood flow, promoting healing of emotional and physical symptoms. Physical conditions such as headaches, insomnia, upset stomach, sprains, and other minor conditions may improve. Psychological conditions such as anger, fear, worry, sadness, and other feelings may also improve. Occasionally, miraculous or profound results have been received but results may vary. Shorter Reiki sessions are combined with coaching when clients need energetic alignments.
